The story of East Martello’s most famous resident began over 100 years ago when a Haitian girl gave young Robert Eugene Otto a handsome straw doll. Robert the Doll was to be Gene’s companion and friend for his entire childhood. Every Time the young boy was accused of some mischief, he would point to the doll and say “Robert Did It.” Today, Robert Did It”, remains a common expression in Key West. Hello Robert!
We enjoyed seeing you. Thank you for letting us take your picture 2 times! I could tell you weren't too happy about me taking that second picture because you made the batteries in my camera go dead, even though they were brand new! That's OK though, I know how hard it must be for you to sit still. I hope you enjoyed the M&M's we left you, they were my favorite candy when I was growing up. Be a good boy now and we hope to see you soon.
Love,
Stacy, Rick and Ricky
